Does anyone know what engine powered the Elliott Olds?
Chevy? SB or BB?
Olds??

Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks!

NASCAR legalized the Small Block Chevy ( they called it " The Corporate 350 " ) in all the GM - legal car bodies beginning in 1978, so that Olds would have had one.

In that time period the teams mostly built their own engines, and appearances were secondary to HORSEPOWER. Period photos show some paint in odd corners of the block and heads where the hot tank didn't thoroughly reach. Any paint applied would likely burn off from the sustained high operating temperatures under the hood anyways. Chrome valve covers and gloss engine paint were reserved for show cars.
