I'm curious if my original 1973 Richard Petty Dodge Charger super 1/16 kit is of any more value than the new ones now that the new ones are out?
When did MPC re-release them?
I picked up an original, unopened kit about a year ago when I stopped by a mom and pop hobby store that was closing its doors and selling off their inventory at a big discount. |

The body being molded in clear plastic should make it worth more....IF someone wants an original to collect. |

Original issues of many kits have less flash than re-issues and sometimes even additional parts not in the re-issues. Also, some of us (me) like the older plastic better than the softer, newer stuff. |

The reissued kits (even the Baker kit issued in the mid '70s) have some tooling modifications. The original is by far the best to build. |

Years ago, before the repop came out, sealed Petty kits

I agree the older plastic is far better. |
