i would like to continue my champianship cars so I was waiting on the 2020/21 Camaro, what real difference would be between them and the 2022 Camaro?

The 2022 Camaro is completely different than the 20/21. New generation of car. _________________ ON DECK/IN THE WORKS: too many started to list...

Google search Next Gen Camaro and you'll find that the body, chassis, and other components are completely different.. |

Only thing that transfers is the engine. Transmission moves to a rear transaxle, tires/wheels are bigger and single lug. Body goes from metal to composite. Shape and design of body is completely new. Chassis is now a spec part you are not permitted to alter in any way and you have to return to Dalara (sp) to be fixed.....other than that......
Want a 2021 champ car it's resin and Revell SS time. |

Thanks for the info, but what I guess I really mean is if I would use the 2022 to build a 20 or 22 shelve build would it be really miles off, or close enough to pass? I googled them and i really don't see a huge change in the body style, but thats through very old eye's

You said in your earlier post you had built up through 2019. Use whatever chasis you used for your 2019 car for the years 2020 and 2021. The 2022 car is going to be all new, independent rear suspension, plus al the other changes mentioned above. The bodies are also going to be a lot different as the 2022 car looks like it is supposed to have a side profile more resembling street cars where 2021 and back hte cars are somewhat flat sided and in no way resembled the production car.
I know a Hendrick car won this year, I do not know what the options are for 2021 bodies but teh 2022 body is going to be a lot different, hopefully someone makes a body for you resin or plastic. |

I'm not sure of the specs or anything but the rear of the car is significantly different. The rear quarters and decklid are much shorter than the gen6 cars. So much so that it prompted the whole moving of the numbers forward to give more room for sponsors. Would be challenging to overcome. |

The 2022 car is the biggest change seen in nascar since they abandoned production car chasis and went to purpose built racing frames. |

They're sticking to a 110 inch wheelbase. A lot of changes within the car and a flat pan under the chassis components.

to answer your question flat out...
no, you cannot sub a 2022 for a 2021. unless you don't care about detail. and not even "rivet counter" level of detail. basic detail. _________________ ON DECK/IN THE WORKS: too many started to list...

The only thing different is the exhaust now exits in front of the Jack post. |

Are there any discernible differences between the bodies of the 2020 and 2021 Camaro racecars? |

My understanding is there will be. The cars down the sides should more resemble a real car. Current cars have had relatively flat sides, where the new cars will have more production reminiscent profiles. Noses and tails will also be different, from the rear there will be a visible diffuser coming off the undertray. The target is for a mustang to look more like a mustang and a Camero to look more like a Camaro in shape. A contractor is going to make all the bodies so the teams won:t be doing their own fab anymore. If you look on facebook Salvinos JR, is doing the 2022 car and have a lot of detail on it published, you can probably get a better visual comparison of 2021 to 2022 from there.

You answered the difference between the 2022 and 2021. He was asking differences between 2020 and 2021.
I don’t believe that there are any real discernable differences between the 2020 and 2021. Looks all the same to me. _________________ ON DECK/IN THE WORKS: too many started to list...

Sorry to both of you, I misread the years and original topic was 2021 vs 2022. I would agree other than the little details race to race or any spoiler tweaks if any the two cars should be the same 2020 to 2021. |

Had a rumble through Jayski's pages for new paint schemes for 2022 and the new cars. Lots of clever designs but one thing strikes me is that putting large or detailed decals on the hoods of these cars will be complicated by the vents on either side of each hood.
