Nicely done! May I ask what kit you used for this build?

I used the stock 66 AMT 427 Fairlane kit body with a polar lights chassis, a resin flat hood and a set of Slixx decals from 1996 with a few add ons.

Totally awesome!
What a beautiful race car and your decision to use the PL chassis was inspired.
Definitely on my bucket list if I can find a hood.
Congrats!

Awesome looking build. Those Polar Lights kits can be a bear but look good.

Another gorgeous Bobby Allison build RJ! The paint finish as well as the rest of the details are perfect! I asked Bobby once out of all his Grand National rides, which one did he like the best? He told me it was this car. He said driving it felt like it was "on rails." He could go anywhere on the track he wanted to go. One of the best handling and best prepared cars he ever drove.

Thanks for posting and keep'em comin'!

-Bobby

Hey Joe B any of the Polar Lights Talladega or Cyclone Ford race kits chassis work. I had the hood for a few years I can't remember where I got it. I plan builds and gather stuff I need to do them as I find it and sometimes it is many years before I get to them. I was really surprised at how well the 1996 dated Slixx decals went on as I have had them for 15 years or more I would guess but they worked like brand new ones.

Great looking Fairlane model!

Did you flare the rear fenders out from the stock Fairlane body? Something looks a bit different. And in a nice way.... Laughing

Thanks, not really flared but I did open them up just a bit based on photos of the actual car.
