Finished this up last week. I've been on a big Bill Elliott building kick lately. It's Bill Elliott's 1985 Winston Million winning car from Darlington. Monogram kit with Powerslide decals. I lowered the stance on it and that's basically it. There's a little dot on the roof where a nick of paint came off during wet sanding I'd like to fix. After I finished the car I noticed the top of the front bumper was supposed to be white instead of red like I had it so I brushed over it with some acrylic white. I'm not crazy about it and I may fix it but I couldn't leave it red.

I really think you should redo the top of the bumper. The rest of the car looks so awesome. This might be a dumb question but why is there a backwards 9 or a six on the roof depending on where you're looking at it from? Did Bill have it that way?

Yeah I'm definitely going to redo the top of the bumper. The pic makes it look horrible. As far as the backwards 9, I believe it was because Bill was running for the Winston Million in that race. It was put on that way by the RJ Reynolds people (Winston cigarettes parent company) to make it stand out on the track for fans and the race announcers. In the 90's they would have orange roof numbers and spoilers to denote the drivers running for the Winston No Bull 5, a similar program where drivers could win extra money based on wins and finishes in certain races.

Thanks for the interesting info about the 9 on the roof.. Glad you're going to fix the bumper.
