Happy Monday Folks!
Seeking additional photos of this race car for a current build.
Using a resin hardtop body.
Especially interested in interior or engine bay pics.
Powerplant was a 427 V8.
Did it have a dry sump set-up?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks again!
Bob

That makes a good looking race car. Reminds me of a Petty Plymouth Satellite. I can't help with your questions but I'm curious to see what turns up.

N.D. (andy) Copley I believe hailed from Hodgenville, Kentucky. The picture below was taken at Fairgrounds Motor Speedway in Louisville, Ky. at most likely an ARCA show. He campaigned fords for many years throughout the region. N.D.'s son was searching for pictures some years back but I lost track of him over the years. I have pictures of other cars he drove but besides the one you posted, this is the only two pictures I have of this car. Interior appears to be same red as the body. Click on the image below for a larger view.

I agree Daryl! Great looking racer. Most were the fastback style.

I wish you luck on the interior and engine bay pictures. What gave you interest in N.D.? He is not exactly a household name?

Hey Dennis-
I'm a Ford Torino fan. My first car was a 73 Gran Torino hardtop. Saw a #62 build recently and decided to give it a try.
I'll keep the group updated as my build unfolds.
Thanks!
Bob

Interesting coincidence in that I'm doing my decals for my next build which is a Torino. This is a car that ran at the above mentioned Fairgrounds Motor Speedway. N.D. must have loved the car you are building. It is engraved on his tombstone.

Wow! Didn't know he had a custom engraved tombstone.
Thanks for sharing!

If you want to do a '73 sedan, there was Darel Dieringer's ride in 1975 - for Morris Davis. Darel's last GN ride.

I wasn't aware of this one!
Wonder if someone makes 1/25th decals??
Thanks for posting!

No decals I know of. And producing them would be difficult with the foil numbers. Colors could be similar to the Lewis Morris entry in the Daytona 500, driven by Dan Daughtry.

Couple more shots. No major sponsor on the quarter panels, but something on the hood...can't figure that out.

My apologies for hijacking with all this Dieringer stuff...
I figured out the hood sponsor:

Locations are listed on the 'CID' areas of the hood.

I would love to do that Daughty car. Clean and attractive paint scheme and it's a good pic for the decal makers.
