What year range are you looking at, current, recent, or a while ago?

fordracer, there are a lot of different ways to replicate the older quik-fill type fillers but one easy way I've found is to drill the hole wherever you want it located along the quarter panel (or drill out the molded one if it is a Monogram stock car or anything else with one molded in) then glue a 1/4"x1/4" piece of .010 or .015 Plastruct or Evergreen sheet behind it. After you have sprayed the body color, blacken the flat bottom of the hole center with a Sharpie and take a small aluminum washer of the kind that you can get in little assortment packs that will JUST drop freely into the hole , exposing only the black center. When it looks right to you, put a small dab of SuperGlue on the back of the washer (along the outer edge so as not to have it squish out on the black center) and affix it. Very little to it but have had several compliments on how they look.

Thanks John. That sounds easy enough. I'll give it a try. |
