|
|
Larry Flynn was a southern favorite for years. Ran as
early as 1955 in the Southern 500 and drove late models
well into the 1980's before giving up racing due to an injury
(fell out of a tree)...
Saw him drive this #14 at the Jacksonville dirt track. My
neighbor worked on this car on occasion in his backyard
garage.
One of my favorite drivers. He was from a small town near
Daytona Beach...
AMT 34 Ford body. Resin tires & rims. Rattle can paint.
Larry Flynn had rather well known help back in the day...
The 14. 34 Ford bodied small block Chevy modified...
Flynn ran on the beach/road course and later at the 2.5 mile Daytona superspeedway.

Holly Hill. The JAX track announcer would always say Larry was from Daytona Beach. More prestigious!!!
I lived in Jacksonville from the third grade thru the first year of college.
Been a Virginian every sense.
All the models I have been doing have a connection to Leeroy Yarbrough,
even the Flynn 14 which Leeroy drove at least one time. And they are all
Being done for a personal friend of Leeroy & the Yarbrough family.
Working on a 1967 version of the XL-1 that Leeroy drove. It will also make the
ups trip from Virginia to Florida after I post it on the forum. |
