Wild Willie Carter. Ran the local 1/2 mile clay track
in Jacksonville for years. Was one of the best, but never
pursued a NASCAR career. Was a "family" man early
in life and couldn't afford to give up a 9 to 5 job.
Passed on recently, well into his 80's. Gone but not
forgotten...
Model of the "Flaming 8". Said to have been the best
looking car ever to run Jax dirt track. Did the model
without the wing, looks better that way (at least to me).
I new Willie after the speedway switched over to
late model sportsmans.
Don't actually recall ever seeing the #8.
Bigdonkey Resin Model A body, tires, and rims. AMT chevy 409
engine. Frame, front & rear end from Revell 32 Ford.
color is "Krylon colormax gloss gum drop" spray. Not a
perfect match but close enough!!!
