This car(86) was built in the late 50's. Originally driven by a driver
named Piggy Bennett. Not particular claim to fame other that
his name.
LeeRoy Yarbrough drove the 86 briefly a few years before he
became a NASCAR star.
The car was sold to track owner Pat Patrick, renumbered and sponored
by Pat's Drive Inn. His driver for years (David Ezell) was well known in the southeast and always a consistent winner.
Car was Ford powered and I do recall seeing this one on the track.

Great job on it H22.
Love those 5 window coupes.
I'm guessing it ran in northern Florida, maybe southern Georgia?
About what years would that have been? _________________ Hondo |

Speedway park in Jacksonville. A 1/2 mile oiled clay dirt track owned by car owner Pat Patrick. Also ran Waycross in South Georgia. Possibly other tracks as long as it was not to long a tow from Jacksonville.
Always Ford powered.
The 86 picture was 1957. Car must have made it at least to 1960 as the 16.
I was young but do remember the black 16. |
