Maybe youse guys can help me out here. I have a Dodge Little Red Express to build for someone. Instructions (and just about ALL history of the vehicle) says it has a 360 Police engine.
The engine in the kit is the big block 400/440.

So as the title says, what kits should I look to for a nice MOPAR small block?

It has been a long time since I messed with old Mopars but IIRC a 360 is the same block design as a 383. Slighly smaller than the 440 block. I found that there is a later SB 360 and I have no idea where to find a kit with one in it. Sorry. The 318 is a totally different engine.

318, 340 and 360 LA are all small block. 383 and up are the big blocks. Really what I need is a small block MOPAR.

If you have a Michaels or Hobby Lobby near by they both have the Revell Dart or AMT/MPC Duster kits ...and use a coupon!

I always use the coupon and thank you for the tips. Pretty sure I have the Duster here somewhere too.

This... pandemic (!!)along with feebay, have all but ruined me. I'm losing $ every day so I'm back to just building with pretty much whatever I have and $1 bottle of apple barrel paint. (Don't knock them! Shot through an AB and properly clear coated, they're just about as good as others. Wink

The AMT 71 Duster has an excellent Mopar small block. Externally, the 318, 340, and 360 are all about the same as far as dimensions go. For a Police package, use the stock 4 barrel carb (original carb was a Carter Thermoquad) and for Police package only, semi-gloss black valve covers. Engine was painted Chrysler blue. Good luck!!!
