I used TS-36 for the red, would need to check tonight on the blue. I never finished the car, 4 sets of Slixx decals fell apart.

One of the metallic blues is a perfect match. I'll need to check which one.
TS-36 is the one!

Not to hijack this thread, but is TS-36 readily available again? I know it was nearly impossible to find for quite a while. Got a can from a buddy on here that found some at a show, i needed it for a McLaren build. After reading this i went to ebay and found a seller that had 4 cans available, so i got 2 for $20 dlvd + tax.

That’s interesting. The Tamiya website showed it as out of stock and my LHS, who could get any other color i asked for in about 2 business days, couldn’t get it, and my usual online vendors didn’t have it either. For over a year.

True. I hoarded 8 cans up here once I heard there was a supply issue in the U.S.

Ha ha.

After learning about the US shortage, I bought the last four cans I saw on a local hobby shop rack.

Went in about 8-9 days later and it was fully restocked.

MCW's 1968 Plymouth Electric Blue Metallic is a perfect match for the blue.

I hate to burst some bubbles here...but....the Jeff Gordon "Rainbow" cars were never metallic blue. The cars only became metallic with the flame job cars in 2001. This info ...along with paint samples were sent to a fellow custom painter who painted a few helmets for Hendrick Motorsports drivers a while back. We also had the Lowes color samples and those were not metallic either...at least not up tp 2004.

Your information is incorrect. ALL of the rainbow cars were metallic blue from 1992 through 2000.

The weren't bass boat metallic, but there is definitely flake/pearl in the rainbow cars.
