I posted my WIP in the Fab section before but now I’ve finally finished. Overall I’m pretty happy how it turned out. If I could go back I would have fitted the upper roll cage under the roof better. It’s about an 1/8” too short but you get what you get with these AMT kits, next time I’ll know.
Also after seeing another post on here about the split air cleaner, I know what I have isn’t correct but I can live with it. Hope you enjoy and please critique away. (Only way I’ll learn anything for the future)

Really, really nice! Maybe the best build I’ve ever seen of this old kit.

Very nicely done! Like the finish on the Goodyear lettering!

Very nice model of a very cool racecar! Cool Cool

The overall appearance and the stance (imho the most important thing on a racecar) are perfect.

I have this one on my to-do-list as well and i´d be happy if it turns out as nice as yours!

That turned out GREAT!!

One of my favorite cars/sponsors/drivers!

Had the original some 40 years ago, but like so many kits/builds, did not survive the 1st purge during my 1st move after getting my own apt back in the early '70's.....

Thanks guys, I wish now I had went with the black roll bars version as I think it would have offered better contrast from the red body but oh well, coulda, woulda, shoulda.

Thanks Michael, I lowered the front end about 1/8” and left the rear stock , I drilled a hole in the frame rail approx. 1/8” up from the original and cut the axle in 2 pieces so I wouldn’t have to run it straight through the motor as they originally have it. Also I cut out the front inner fender wells to give the tires clearance (It’s also correct not to have them). Biggest thing is dry fit everything early on and check the stance, it will save you headaches in the end. Another thing that helps the look is the PPP wheels and tires, the kit tires are skinny and rims too deep.

OUTSTANDING build Irish! Great looking stance, paint, and decals...heck everything about this build I like. You took a very simplistic kit and made it look like a million dollars! Well done. I would place this build in my display case any day. Thanks for posting and keep'em comin.'
