Salvinos is coming out with the Pontiac LaMans. Should be late July or a bit after. I look for the first to be Cale Yarborough`s 1983 Daytona 500 winner. I would like to see some Tim Richmond #27 decals with the black boarder. That would build Tim`s 1983 Pontiacs and the Monte Carlo SS they tested for the Daytona 500. |

Good News indeed. Lotsa LeMans were used in NASCAR, including Cale's 1983 Daytona - winning " backup " car, Bobby Allison's Ranier Racing LeMans that stunk up the show ( but didn't win ) at Daytona in 1981, Bobby's DiGard Racing / Gatorade LeMans used at Talladega and Riverside in 1982, Phil Parsons' Skoal FLIP car from Talladega in 1983, J.D. McDuffie's ex - Ranier Racing car and the Benny Parsons / Buddy Baker Ranier rides, and from Winston West the Rick McCray #04 Coors Beer and Dick Midgley - owned LeMans, driven by both Dave Marcis at Riverside AND Hershel McGriff at several WW stand alone races. Some oddities too, from RahMoc Racing & Bob Senneker too !!! |

And can't that Le Mans body be modified into a Ventura used in LMS/Busch series??? The Bristol 1983 LMS race was on the other night...front fascia is different...body the same. |

Ventura body is vastly different. It's the same.platform as the Nova and Omega. The LeMans is the same platform as the Malibu. |

The Olds and Chevy in that Bristol race were very different than the Ventura. They both looked like the Nova. The roof and C pillars looked just like the Le Mans........thx |

Got a pic because the LeMans and Ventura are completely different.
All Busch Grand National cars.
Ventura
LeMans
Nova with Buick in background
The LeMans looks nothing like the Nova or Ventura. |

I had the name wrong.......The #17 Pepsi car is the car in the LMS Bristol race this weekend. The #17 looks like it could be made, with mods, from the LeMans Cup kit coming. My knowledge of 80's GM is short.....
The #17 in this screen grab

I’m not really up on the 70s and 80s smaller GM cars either... but what I gather is this car (and cars like it) could be made from the LeMans kit with a modified nose piece?

LeMans
| This particular style is what's on the way. Different nose pieces are being discussed. _________________ "Dude, it's not Camelot... it's only a model." "Details man, I need details!!" |

The Late Model Sportsman and Budweiser/Busch Series used the '78-'80 Grand Am body. Same body as the '81 LeMans, slightly different nose. Not so different that it couldn't be converted with some rework and a decal. |

I’m sure the aftermarket will step up, but tooling a tree with couple more nose options could help them get a lot more mileage out of the kit. Though, securing licensing for desirable enough cars may prove troublesome... |

Correct. the 1978 - '80 Pontiac Grand Am was considered as limited production by NASCAR, and therefore ineligible for use in Cup. |

The hoods are also different between the LeMans and the Grand Am. The Grand Am hood is a little flatter than the LeMans. |

I believe the Davey is an ARCA car. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a BGN car with the LeMans treatment. That seems to be reserved for Grand Ams. |
