That is out of the park GORGEOUS. This build, along with spotter's Jody Ridley are not only beautiful individual works but capture the look and feel of the old LMS division as well or better than I've seen yet! Great work Mark!!

That thud sound you just heard was my jaw hitting the floor. Absolutely one of the best looking LMS models I've ever laid eyes on! Inspiring! Great build Mark. Thanks for posting and keep'em comin'!

Mack , the wip is at the link below. I used to watch Freddy when he would come to Houston's Meyer Speedway back in the day. He would always dominate the races when he would show up.

hobbyguy, the tires and wheels are p.p,p. for 65 late model sportsman cars. I sprayed the wheels with decanted chrome from one of those molowtow chrome pens that you can get from H.L. You can pour it right in your airbrush and shoot it but the wheel has to be white to get the best effect. I believe I purchased the wheels and tires from Southern Motorsports Hobbies. Try not to touch the wheels after you use the chrome pen because the stuff dulls very easily. Takes forever to dry and even after it drys it still dulls if you touch it.

When Freddy brought his real car, which I don't think looked like the model I did from ref photos, to Meyer speedway, it always looked and sounded so much better then the local talent. It was almost embarrasing for them to put their cars on the same track with Freddy. Same thing happened when Neil Bonnet would visit.

Another beauty from your bench. I'm so partial for cars from that era. I've gone back to your WIP. Best way to learn from the masters!

Interesting side story on this model. The next build I'm doing I'm using the kit that I took the engine from to do this Chevelle. I need an engine for the car I took from, so I bought an AMT 70 Corvette model yesterday at H.L. so I would have a 350 to put in it. I have plenty of extra big blocks so I will put one of them in the 70 Vette, someday.
