I'm going to have to start working on my black widow again, very nice clean car. Proves something nice can be built out of the box. _________________ "And on the 8th day God created the Hemi!" |

Very nice! Excellent build. I learned to drive in a'57 Ford Custom 300 that was a 2 door sedan in red and white. Long ago in a world far, far away. Well, at least 20 miles from here |

Question: Was it a rule in the fifties, half your stuff had to be red and white? Not complaining, it just seems odd every film and photo I see of the fifties in color looks like a Coca Cola ad! _________________ "Dude, it's not Camelot... it's only a model." "Details man, I need details!!" |

Thanks for the compliments. I screwed the pooch by leaving the
mufflers on! I was suppose to remove them, early "senior moment".
I'll give Revell an A for making the kit, it at least is a good base to
work from, needs more "dirt track details" but it's a darn good start.
My father had a blue and white '57 wagon in the mid 60's, was blue
and white till my older brother decided it needed body work, he had
gray primer spots all over it, "urban camouflage". He ordered the paint
and the paint never came, train derailed???? It finished out it's life in
"urban camouflage".---John _________________ I hear the voices and obey |

Not sure about read and white in the 50's but for sure almost everything was two-tone. If you had a one color car it was usually an oddity. |

Weren't 90% of the '57 Chevy's black? I really don't remember that
many back in the day being anything other than black. My mother had
a real unique '49 Ford, beautiful "root beer brown" what I called it. I
think the color was actually Hawaiian Bronze. Colors today just plain
suck, way too many gray or silver ones, cookie cutters like NASCAR!---John _________________ I hear the voices and obey |

I owned a 57 Chevy in the 70's, it was a 210, two-door hardtop and it was metallic green only, the interior was all black (custom). I wish I still had that car.... |

Thanks, I did have the hood so it opened. Then after I finished all the parts
it wouldn't budge, I think the final gloss coat sealed it so I tried some gentle
prodding with my X Acto and VOILA! Some hood up pictures.---John
