Sad to read that the Jayski racing website has been closed down by ESPN.
In fairness, it was far less entertaining than it used to be in the days when Jay Adamczyk ran the site he started as an independant. But he gave in to a buy out offer from ESPN and they took over the hosting of it.
If it wasn't as entertaining - especially the bits of cheeky gossip leaked by racing insiders - it still remained informative and a useful resource base for modelers looking for reference photos.
Good luck to Jay and his crew. Here's hoping they bounce back with something new. |

Bob Pockrass is a friend of mine and he told me it came as a total shock, no Advance word and no chance to make other plans. You do know that Disney and NASCAR were in discussions which went down the toilet and the evil Mouse owns ESPN. Last I heard ESPN and ABC were eliminating all Motorsports coverage. A sad day. _________________ "And on the 8th day God created the Hemi!" |

The quote below is on the top part of the main page.
"Thanks for 22+ great years. Monday, January 28 was the final day for Jayski.com. We appreciate all your support. It's been an honor to work for and represent ESPN. -Jay, Scott, and Amanda."
In hindsight the site had a peculiar look to it yesterday as the Articles page had not been updated for several days.
This is truly sad. As was pointed out above, the site lost a lot of its luster with the lack of insider information, but the Articles links provided a lot of information without having to look all over the internet. |

Dont worry guys, everything is going to be fine, first, people are actively working on making sure the entire site is archived, and from what has been posted, the entire is 100% archived, there are issues with the last few years 2017/2018, but its more on the back end, but its all saved too.
Jayski himself hinted that he may try and revive the site moving forward.
Here a lot of links, up first, Reddit, Jayski himself posted in this topic

I appreciate the kind words - those of you that made them!
No hard feelings towards ESPN. Business is business. It's that way in NASCAR now and it always has been. They gave us a great platform for over 10 years.
The change in Jayski is as much caused by the change in social media. Anyone can break news now with their own account. If someone knows something, why pass it on to someone else when you can release it yourself?
We will see where things go from here...
So here is link to all the paint schemes, they have been archived here
https://jayskiarchive.weebly.com/
And here is Jayski from the Wayback Machine
http://www.jayski.com/
I will keep this updated |

Being Fox Sports just signed Bob Pockrass and Ricky Craven, maybe Fox could use Jayski's expertise on a social media capacity? _________________ << On The Bench --- 2022 Elliott Hooters |

from what I've heard from some friends in the media, ESPN is running Jayski's site now directly. |

Per Jayski’s site:
We are back...sort of!
Thanks to ESPN, Jay has now regained ownership of the jayski.com domain.
Our next step is to find a partner to help us relaunch the website in all its former glory as soon as possible. Those discussions are underway, but nothing has been finalized yet.
Until our next deal is finalized, this site will contain only limited information. We don't want to rebuld the site without knowing what platform we will be operating on in the future. As soon as we have something to announce, it will be posted here.
Have questions? Email Jay / Jayski: jay@jayski.com or Scott: scott@jayski.com
Press releases and other information can be sent to the shared jayski@jayski.com address. Messages to that email will go to Jay, Scott, and Amanda all at once. |

EDIT: The update Reyst posted above was posted about two minutes before I posted this. That's good timing.
Scott Page (formerly of Jayski's site) did a Reddit AMA about a month ago. He said that ESPN told Jay that the domain, the Jayski trademark, and rights to the site would be coming back to him, but it will take time (corporate stuff always does). Once it's returned they can do as they want again, and Scott said "we would like to restart the site." He also said there are also no existing non-competes for anyone. They want to get things going again but in addition to waiting for ESPN to complete the transfer of everything, they also have to think about site design, hosting and management, dealing with the archives, and all the other stuff you must consider in regards to a large and popular website. The upshot seems to be that Jayski's site should be coming back, but it's going to take time.
For the curious, here's the link:

Quoted from the jayski.com site:
"A deal to relaunch the website has been finalzied and a new site is currently being built. We now expect the new site to debut the week of May 13.
Press releases and other information can be sent to the shared jayski@jayski.com address. Messages to that email will go to Jay, Scott, and Amanda all at once." |
