I like to assemble the roll cage using the chassis as a jig, but not glue it to the chassis. After the glue is dry, and I clean up all the mold lines, seams, I paint it as a unit.

The only thing I can add is that the airbrush will require an throurgh cleaning aftwards. The metallic particles can take a lot of work to completly remove. silver will typically cover pretty easily.
